Books
During break I decided to do some classic reading. I read Walden Pond by Thoreau and Crime and Punishment by Dostoyevsky. Walden Pond is always recommended by EVS professors as it was one of the first books to touch on major environmental issues. I say, boring. It read exactly how you would expect a book to read when written by someone who isolated themselves for 2.5 years in a shack. Overly contemplative and pretentious I say for a man who spent the vast majority of his life living like everyone else. It provided some nice ideas to ponder, but overall I wasn't very impressed. Crime and Punishment on the other hand I was a big fan of. I had read a lot of Dostoyevsky in philosophy class as well as some other writings since then, but this was my first venture into his novel arena. Not really an easy read, but very rewarding I would say. I read the vast majority of this while I was sick and alone in my room, and in the book the main character often blames his sickness and insanity on his tiny room and limited social interactions. This made me uneasy. Any recommendations for another classic to tackle?

Dad says Huckleberry Finn or 3 Muskateers. I say Old man and the Sea for your oceanography studies. love,

whatever you do, if your going to axe murder some old lady, dump the body at least 30 miles away, on HIGH ground. Most murder victims are dumped low because of the killers not wanting them to carry the body uphill and therefore the forensics teams will be busy in the lower areas and wont find your cleverly stashed cadaver.
